Fingerprint Submission
For applicants aged 14 to 70, a China visa application will not be complete until fingerprints are submitted at a China Visa Application Service Centre. Once we have received all required materials for your visa application, we will contact you to schedule a fingerprint appointment at a China Visa Application Service Centre where is nearly. Appointments are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Passport
a) Original passport with at least six months of remaining validity and with at least 2 pieces of blank visa page.
If you are a dual national or multi-national, you are requested to provide all current valid passports in your posession. Additionally, you may be also required to provide your previous passport(s) in support of your application.
b) A photocopy of the passport (the data page that includes the photo, personal information and signature page)
*Proof of legal status
(applicable for those not applying for the visa in their country of citizenship)
If you are not applying for a visa in the country of your citizenship, you must provide the original and photocopy of your UK legal status(work visa, study visa or residence permit).

*One recently-taken colour passport photo (bare-head, full face) against a white background (size: 48mm x 33mm) attached.
* Application Form. Fill in the form online and print out the completed application form once finished and sign where appropriate.
Please ensure that you have uploaded the correct photograph of the person detailed in the application form when filling in the online application. The visa centre will reject any application where the uploaded image is of another person. A new application form with an appropriate photograph will be requested if the application form contains another person's photo. If the online form indicates that the photo is not qualified and cannot be uploaded successfully, please be sure to bring an appropriate photograph to the centre when you come to submit your application.
*Complete the enclosed China Application Form and send it along with your other documents to the CVISA office address listed on the submission checklist page of this application pack. We will provide you with the official China application form for your signature before your consular fingerprinting appointment. Upload your photograph at CVISA Photo Service. Q1 Family member or relative of Chinese citizen(s) or foreigner(s) with permanent residence status in China (more than 180 days)
Q1 Family member of Chinese citizen applying for residence in China for family reunion,(Q1)Family member of foreigner(s) with permanent residence status in China who is applying for residence in China for a family reunion,(Q1)Residence visa for child to be fostered in China
For family reunion, the following documents are required:
A. An invitation letter provided by a Chinese citizen or a foreign citizen with a Chinese permanent residence permit to live in China. The invitation letter should contain:
(a) Information of the applicant (incl. full name, gender, date of birth, etc.);
(b) Information regarding the visit (incl. purpose of visit, intended arrival date, intended place(s) to stay,intended duration of stay, relationship between the applicant and the inviting party, details of any financial support to be provided during the stay in China);
(c) Information of the inviting party (incl. name, contact telephone number, address, signature of individual).
B. Photocopy of Chinese ID (both front and back sides) or foreign passports and permanent residence permits provided by the inviting party.
C. Original and photocopy of certification (marriage certificate, birth certificate or notarized certification of kinship) showing the relationship of family members between the applicants and inviting parties.
"Family members" refers to spouses, parents, sons, daughters, spouses of sons or daughters, brothers, sisters, grandparents, grandsons, granddaughters and parents-in-law.
(8) For foster care, the following documents are required:
A. Original and photocopy of the natural parents’ or guardians’ passports, as well as the notarized and authenticated certification showing the relationship between parents or guardians and children.
B. Foster entrusted notarization issued by Chinese Embassies/Consulates General in foreign countries or Foster Care Power of Attorney notarized and authenticated in the country of residence or in China;
C. A letter agreeing to foster care issued by the trustee living in China who has agreed to provide foster care services and photocopy of the ID of the trustee.
D. A photocopy of the certificate indicating the parent(s) resided abroad when the child was born, providing that either or both parents of the child are Chinese citizens.
We kindly remind you that:
1.Holders of a Q1-Visa must apply for a residence permit from the immigration department of the local public security authority in the place intended to stay within 30 days of entry to China.
Q2 :Family member or relative of Chinese citizen(s) or foreigner(s) with permanent residence status in China (no more than 180 days)
Q2 Relative of Chinese citizen(s) living in China applying for a visa for visit less than 180 days,(Q2)Relative of foreigner(s) with permanent residence status in China applying for a visa for visit less than 180 days
An invitation letter provided by a Chinese citizen or a foreign citizen with a Chinese permanent residence permit. The invitation letter should contain:
a) Information of the applicant (incl. full name, gender, date of birth, etc);
b) Information regarding the visit (incl. purpose of visit, arrival and departure dates, place(s) to be visited, relationship between the applicant and the inviting party, and details of any financial support to be provided during the stay in China);
c) Information of the inviting party (incl.name, contact number, address, signature of individual).
(8) Photocopy of Chinese ID(both front and back sides) or foreign passport and permanent residence permit provided by the inviting parties.
(9) The proof of relationships including birth certificate, marriage certificate, Chinese household registration, certificate letter from the local police bureau in China, notarial certificate of kinship, etc.
The invitation letter must be written in Chinese if the inviter is a Chinese citizen.
(10) Applicants under 18 years old:
a) Application form for those who are under 18 years old should be signed by both parents or their guardian(s). The passports of parent(s) and/or relevant legal documents for the guardians plus passport of the guardians will be needed. Both original and copy of passport information page and signature page. If the application form sign by one of parent, there is a child consent letter (including parent’s signature) need to be provided from the person with parental responsibility for the child to apply visa and travel abroad.
b) Applicants under 18 should also provide the Birth Certificate with parents' names. The Birth Certificate should be either in English or Chinese. If any personal information does not match with the documents provided (such as a name change), an official changing proof documents will be needed. The birth certificate should be either in English or Chinese
c) If parent(s) is holding non British passport, please also provide the original and photocopy of your UK legal status (work visa, study visa or residence permit).
d) Overseas Chinese origin who are under 18 applying Chinese visa for the first time also need to provide both the original and copy of the Birth Certificate with parents information, previous Chinese passport or travel documents if having, UK visa or Indefinite Leave to Remain, Naturalization paper, plus the parents’ passport, UK visa or Indefinite Leave to Remain, or naturalization paper when the applicant was born. All documents need both original and copy. If any personal information does not match with the documents provided, both original and copy of the official documents for personal information change, will be needed for the first time applying Chinese visa.
S1 Family member of foreigner(s) staying or residing in China or person who needs to come to China for personal matters (more than 180 days)
S1 Spouse, parent, child under the age of 18 or parent-in-law of foreigner(s) residing in China for work, study or other purposes who visit China for 180 days or more,(S1)Person who needs to reside in China for other personal matters
Applicants who are going to visit their relatives residing in China and intend to stay for more than 180 days need to provide:
A. A photocopy of the inviting party’s passport and residence permit.
B. An invitation letter that contains:
a) Information of the applicant (incl. full name, gender, date of birth, etc.);
b) Information regarding the visit (incl. purpose of visit, intended arrival date, intended place(s) to stay, intended duration of stay, relationship between the applicant and the inviting party, and details of any financial support to be provided during the stay in China);
c) Information of the inviting party (incl. name, contact telephone number, address, signature of individual).
(8) Original and photocopy of certification (marriage certificate, birth certificate or notarized certification of kinship) showing the relationship of family members between the applicants and the inviting parties.
"Relatives" refers to spouses, parents, sons or daughters under the age of 18, parents in law.
(9) Accompanying family members applying together with applicants of Z-Visa or X1-Visa need to provide:
A. A photocopy of the application documents of Z-Visa or X1-Visa.
B. Original and photocopy of certification (marriage certificate, birth certificate or notarized certification of kinship) showing the relationship of family members between applicants and inviting parties. "Relatives" refers to spouses, parents, sons or daughters under the age of 18, parents in law.
C. For private affairs, documentation identifying their nature should be provided.

S2) Family member of foreigner(s) staying or residing in China or person who needs to come to China for personal matters (no more than 180 days)
S2 Family member of foreigner(s) staying or residing in China for work, study or other purposes who visit China for less than 180 days,(S2)Applying for a visa to stay in China for other personal matters, such as handling litigation, inheritance, real estate or medical treatment
For visiting family members for up to 180 days, the following documents are required:
A. A photocopy of the inviting party’s passport and residence permit.
B. An invitation letter. It should contain:
a) Information of the applicant (incl. full name, gender, date of birth, etc.);
b) Information regarding the visit (incl. purpose of visit, arrival and departure dates, place(s) to be visited, relationship between the applicant and the inviting party, and details of any financial support to be provided during the stay in China);
c) Information of the inviting parties (incl. name, contact telephone number, address, signature of individual).
C. Original and photocopy of certification (marriage certificate, birth certificate or notarized certification of kinship) showing the relationship of family members between applicants and inviting parties.
"Family members" refers to spouses, parents, sons, daughters, spouses of sons or daughters, brothers, sisters, grandparents, grandsons, granddaughters and parents-in-law.
(8) For medical treatment, proof of treatment or acceptance letter for treatment from a Chinese hospital and a bank deposit statement are needed. Accompany family memeber also need to provide a letter from the Chinese hopistal, and proof of relationship.

Applicants under 18 years old:
a) Application form for those who are under 18 years old should be signed by both parents or their guardian(s). Photocopy of previous Chinese visas
(applicable for those who have obtained Chinese visas before).
If you have obtained Chinese visas before, you should provide the photocopy of the latest Chinese visa. It might facilitate the Embassy to issue the most appropriate visa to you if you are able to provide copies of any previous 2 years multiple- visas and entry&exit records if you have ever been granted 2 years multiple-entry visa before .
Photocopy of previous Chinese passports or previous Chinese visas(
applicable for those who were Chinese citizens and have obtained foreign citizenship).
If you are applying for a Chinese visa for the first time, you should provide the last Chinese passport held and a photocopy of its data page.
If you have obtained Chinese visas before and apply for a Chinese visa with a renewed foreign passport that does not contain any Chinese visa, you should provide original previous passport(s)and present the photocopy of the previous passport's data page and the photo page if it is separate, as well as the previous Chinese visa page (If your name on the current passport differs from that on the previous one, you must provide an official document of name change).

Multiple Entry Applicants
The issuance of a visa valid for more than one entry is not guaranteed and is at the discretion of the visa officer. The Embassy's decision is final and cannot be contested by CVISA.
Travel to Tibet
Travellers entering Tibet must complete the additional Other Declaration Form. A copy is acceptable. Contact CVISA for further information.
Applicants of Chinese Origin
Travellers born in Mainland China, Taiwan,Hong Kong, or Macao must provide additional documentation to apply for their Chinese visa. Contact CVISA for further information.
